John has a long professional career in land management. Over a period of 28 years, he has been a forester (Forests Commission Victoria) scientific officer (Parks Division of Melbourne Board of Works) and operations manager (National Parks Service).
John joined Ecoplan Australia after a successful 15-year career as an Environmental Scientist with ALCOA. John’s industrial skills have been honed in the aluminium smelting industry and its associated electric power generation activities, where the monitoring of gaseous and particulate emissions and their environmental effect is a requirement for Environment Protection Authority licensing.
John has developed expertise in mapping and interpretation of spectral imagery as a means of monitoring environmental change. He has developed systems for recording environmental characters and linking them with industrial performance criteria. These systems provide parameters of measurable change for managers of the industrial landscape. John brings to the company overarching skills and experience that broadens our ability to provide integrated land management.
